I can’t stress this quotation enough. Technology has become so powerful these days that internet is now considered a basic necessity. I, myself, am a fan of this modern world but I also can't help but notice the bad things that come along with it. People have been abusing this power and I don't want my kids to do the same. I want them to be responsible in everything they do which is why it is a top priority of mine to educate them on how to properly handle things. Even with my busy schedule as a mother and a blogger, I will never neglect my kids' needs. I want to monitor each and every one of their activities, may it be physical or cyber activities. Although, juggling one role to another is not a walk in the park, I will try my hardest to always be there to guide them.
Last November 9, I attended an event organized by PLDT Home called Mommy’s Day Out. It was held at Stacy’s BGC and highlighted parenting in the digital age. Celebrity moms Isabel Oli-Prats and Denise Laurel hosted the event where we shared our own mommy tips, routines, stories, and questions in light of technology. I got a lot of useful tips and techniques on how to approach my kids regarding their gadget usage.

We were also given valuable advice from renowned psychologist, guidance counselor, and author, Michelle S. Alignay, who explained the role and relevance of technology in managing the family and the home in this modern time. My understanding about digital age deepened and I am truly blessed to have attended this event for it has been such a fruitful learning experience.

I’ve been in the blogging industry for a while now and multi-tasking has become my bread and butter. I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again, the secret to life is balance. For example, as great as the new technologies are, it is still important to interact with people in real life. We have to limit our kids not to deprive them of fun, but to widen their horizons and make sure that school is not getting pushed aside. And as for me, I have to balance my family life with my career as a blogger. Even though it is difficult, I believe that having the best of both worlds is attainable and is worth the hard work. I know that I can do all things with the right mindset, good equipment, and of course, God.

ReplyDeleteBtw, I've experienced using PLDT connection when I was in college, sobrang mabilis. It takes seconds to load a page, actually in a single snap nga lang eh madadirect ka na sa page that you're browsing. Maliban na lang syempre pag malakas ulan o madaming nakikiconnect. Hahaha. 😂😂😂
I have a son also and we have the same perspective when it comes to this issue Ms. Rochelle. In this digital age, we should always be on the look-out lalo na sa daily activities na iniengage ng ating mga anak. Siguro paglaki ng anak ko, sobrang advanced na lalo ng technology but I am not worried kasi I am here to guide him. It's always been our ultimate concern as moms. So, sa ganitong innovations na ginagawa ng PLDT, talagang we can be closer to our homes. 👏👏👏

You're right, Ms. Rochelle technology has really empowered our lives. I also rely most on the internet... so as my daughter... May konting kelangan lang ako, hinahanap ko agad sa internet (haha) at mga bata ngayon kung minsan mas marunong pa sa atin in terms of usage of the internet.

Napakaganda tlaga ng PLDT ngayon dahil sa mga bagong product innovation na multi tasking na rin katulad natin. Like the pldt fam cam mas madali mo ng makita yung mga ginagawa ng anak mo at parang ang lapit lapit mo lang sa kanya :) At yung smart watch na magagamit kapag emergency makakapagtxt agad. :)
