Happy Teachers Month to all Ma’am and Sir ♥
Teachers are like second
parents. They teach, they lead, and they inspire. They shape our minds and help us to recognize
our talents and goals. Teachers play an important role in success. We
should be proud of our teachers and reward them for their success. They are
the cornerstone of our nation’s future and the people whom we trust to bring
the lives of our young people to the greatest of their potential.
I salute all teachers, who tirelessly light
the lamp of knowledge. For all the hard work and efforts they have put in for
educating us and our children. Whether you are a parent or just a student, we
all owe our teachers. So let us reward them and treat them with respect.
I salute PLDT Gabay Guro for
paying tribute to our dear teachers and I was pleased that I witnessed that
amazing teacher advocacy of the PLDT Smart Foundation (PSF) and PLDT Managers’
Club Inc. as the biggest-ever tribute to teachers in celebrating National
Teachers’ Month in this year’s The Gabay Guro Grand Gathering event held at SM

2G has been supporting
teachers and students who would like to take up the teaching profession for
seven years now. All of 2G efforts are aligned with its six pillars, which are:
• Teachers’ Training that
presents new modules on Emotional Intelligence and IT Literacy and
Sustainability
• Housing and Educational
Facilities
• Livelihood Programs;
Broadbanding and Computerization of Schools
• Teachers’ Tribute,
highlighted by the 2G Grand Gathering.
So far, 2G has awarded
around 1,000 scholarship grants to aspiring teachers. It has enabled more than
300 scholars to graduate from its 40 partner schools nationwide. Five of the 2G
scholars have continued their quest for higher learning and received Master’s
Degree scholarships from the Philippine Women’s University.
In June this year, 2G and
PLDT Hong Kong launched a scholarship program for Overseas Filipino Workers’
(OFW) children and dependents. They also sponsored 110 OFW teacher-candidates
in their review and venue fees for the Licensure Examination for teachers.
2G and its partners have
also donated some 28 classrooms to various public schools in the country,
especially those that are located in the calamity-ravaged areas. It was the
first organization to build permanent structures in the form of sturdy
classrooms after the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that devastated Bohol in 2013. It
was likewise one of the first responders in the rehabilitation of
typhoon-damaged Leyte.

Such an extravagant event! And the prizes are really really expensive and there were a lot. The winners are so lucky. :) But they deserve it. In fact it's still less than what they have contributed to the community and to our country. Our success in sports, quiz bees, pageants, etc have been influenced by our teachers. Happy teachers' month! :)
ReplyDeleteI've watched this on tv earlier. MVP is so generous. Ang daming papremyo. The winner of the house and lot is so lucky kc seaman yata ung asawa nya and yet sya pa nanalo. Etong cyberya parang gusto ko sya kaso lang wala ng pwesto sa bahay.
ReplyDeletethis is one of the most memorable day for me, the day i met one of my fave blogger- Ms Rochelle, super bilis lng ung moment pero so happy to meet you mam, ang ganda ganda mo, promise! this was a big celebration in acknowledging our Teachers....though not everyone got their wish to bag one of those big prizes, .... their contribution to our society can not be denied, they honed us to be a better person, they've helped us build our own future, and guided us to be more productive in life..... a reminder that they once and will always be our second parent!
